Product Analyst – Retail Market Analyst

Theatro is a Dallas-based start-up software company pioneering the use of voice-controlled mobility solutions for hourly retail workers, enabling “Heads Up and Hands Free” customer interactions. At the core of our solution is our communications platform that empowers associates and HQ teams with the ability to communicate instantly with any employee, or any enterprise application, from anywhere! Along with our software solution, we have developed a small, 1 1/2 oz Wi-Fi wearable computer that allows associates to engage with our software apps. As the Retail Market Analyst reporting to the SVP of Marketing, you will research and define how the company’s core products are positioned, used, and priced in the retail market segment. You will be responsible for influencing our Product Management team with insights on new features and new products specific for the retail market segment. This role will work closely with sales, marketing, product management and customer experience teams to analyze and understand the retail market, the product lifecycle to help launch new products and improve our existing solution,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform market research to help shape the strategy and vision for our product roadmap for the retail market segment. This will include researching product landscapes, features, benefits, distribution channels, pricing strategies, and competitive analysis.
  • Identify actionable insights from primary and secondary data that lead to key product recommendations
  • Create technical user stories and business requirements for the development team.
  • Set up and analyze A/B tests for new experimental features, generate and size opportunities to prioritize features, and define key performance metrics.
  • Create cohort analysis and segmentation strategies to ensure our products are targeted to the right buyers.
  • Participate in new product development meetings and assist as necessary with product development.
  • Drive product demand forecast planning for both software and hardware solutions.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • You have a bias toward executing on tasks and projects, especially in dynamic and rapidly changing environments
  • You are an exceptional writer and can effectively express the benefits of Theatro
  • You are an avid researcher and fill knowledge gaps to make informed decisions about product direction
  • You are an accomplished product analyst or product manager that has launched profitable products in the past
  • You have prior experience working either at a startup or in retail technology
  • You are comfortable with coordination, collaboration, and strategy, but also with individually contributing through hands-on product strategy, design and marketing

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, technology, marketing, or related field
  • Retail software industry expert
  • Strong writing skills to create reports about target markets and product opportunities, as well as user stories and product requirements for our development team.
  • Can translate complex market research data into manageable and useful product and market insights that drive results.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in product management, program management, UX, business analyst, or an adjacent role
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, or statistical packages (such as R, SAS, STATA, etc.)
  • Proven history of creating effective product strategies in retail
  • Excellent time management and project prioritization skills
  • Knowledgeable in emerging retail technology including IoT, task management, indoor analytics, and/or communication tools
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with agile/lean software development practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset

Data Scientist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discover and derive insights from large data sets of structured and semi-structured data
  • Collaborate with Business teams and executive teams to develop novel, practical, and operationalized analytics that drive explicit business value at the customer level
  • Combine strengths in data management, analysis, applied statistics, and visualization capabilities
  • Develop data analysis solutions based on descriptive analyses and predictive models
  • Collaborate with marketing, service, development, and engineering teams to ensure that requirements for integration, security, data quality and cross-functional usage are addressed
